I've loved this place ever since I was a kid riding on the interurban trolley from The Oaks to Oregon City with my grandmother. On Google Earth using the satellite view you can still see the old trolley tracks under the pavement where they cross the big intersection there of SE Jennings and McLaughlin. Later Madelon and I and her mom Madeline have loved the hotdogs there. The photos of them still make my mouth water... GREAT! Wish we could go have one there right now!

Still the best long hot dog ever! Wonderful service a little wait but totally worth it! Great fries!

Had a burger today. My first time there. They butter the buns! What a treat. Service super fast. Not crowded this Tuesday at lunch but overheard staff say how they were slammed yesterday. The setting is serious retro - authentically so - not in a hipster fantasy way. I'm mid century vintage myself so I dug the vibe. I will return and try the dogs next time. They look amazing.

Another apology for no photos. I was sooooooo hungry that I didn't think to take a photos before the food hit my mouth. I ordered their basic Coney Island dog. Which is a foot long, special chili, cheese and chopped onions. Not for everyone's stomach but I had a taste that needed to be satisfied. It did not disappoint. The dog was hot and the chili and other toppings were perfectly balanced. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. And the prices are insanely cheap.

I like their footlong as a sausage dog with coney sauce. It isn't on the menu, but it is a my goto choice. Their shakes are good and so is the chili.

I have been trying to avoid Roakes but, I found a way in which I can still enjoy their tremendous long sausages. They allowed me to order without the buns coney style! Yummy Yum You see I have type ll diabetes and I wanted to still enjoy (1) a meal that that makes me glow every time I ate there without hesitation. The spectacular team held back the buns and my blood sugar was just (126) thank you so very much Roakes

Workers are really nice and super friendly, not long of a wait at all compared to how busy it was with sit ins and take outs. Special kind of flavor to the hot dog, you won't be able to taste something like this anywhere else. The onions are pretty strong, so just note that. They are also able to mix milkshake flavors which is super cool. You're able to pick a short or foot long hot dog, so this place is good for a little snack or even for when you are super hungry. Cool vibes and homey vibes to the place and everyone in it !!

Pretty good but a little overhyped. The fries were a little limp and on the salty side. Hot dog was pretty good, the highlight was actually the ciabatta bun for the burger!

Wow!! I drove from Salem to eat here, and it was absolutely worth the drive. The food was delicious. My husband had the Coney burger and I had the coney dog. We shared a large fry. The service was excellent. I had seen this place on msn multiple times as the best hot dog place in Oregon, and it absolutely was! We will definitely be back.
